Silence of Winter Nights!

All the work I set out to do this winter is done, except for one album that still needs designing. It seems like I will have lots of time until my first wedding in March to get my website updated, take some time for myself, my husband and my dogs.

I just hope that the silence of the winter nights without work will not drive me crazy.......when a person works and loves to work as I do the image of not HAVING to do anything can be kind of scary :) Well, I will just have to find things to do...maybe play with new ideas, create some more digital artwork and just learn to relax. I did want to write a few suggestions that could be important to brides for their wedding day, maybe now is the time to do that.

Winter Wonderland!

I always loved snow, but now enough is enough....... We have not been in town for a week....roads are still covered and worse, still iced over. I am just to much of a chicken to drive on that mess, specially since I don't really have to.
Steve and I just hang out here at home and I am getting an incredible amount of work done. I am all caught up and finished all the albums from 2010, except for two and I still have to receive those photo choices. I actually been able to create some art pieces for myself.

It looks like I will have time to do some work on my website to update everything and get some rest before the wedding season starts again in March. I just hope I can deal with rest, because this girl thrives on work...... hahahaha.

Just hope that we can venture out into town before the next snow......they are actually calling for wintry mix on Monday, maybe the weather man is wrong this time.

A Mother's Love for her Daughters!

My friend Elaine English wrote this poem and it describes the love I feel for my daughters better then I could in written words. Thank you Elaine for allowing me to post this to express my love for my daughters......both my girls are a gift send from heaven for which I will forever be grateful for.
I hope these words will keep you warm when life surrounds you with a freezing storm that never seems to end, remember forgiveness and love will always warm your heart even in the coldest days. With all my LOVE ALWAYS! Mom

Worlds of words, and not one the right one.

None desirable enough

No word or phrase is adequate

To describe my love for you

And never will there be one found

My love for you is higher than high

But not high enough

My love for you is sunlight filtering through leaves

And still not lovely enough

My love is, more than all else,

Catching my breath and keeping fingers crossed

Hoping, but not all hope

Wishing, but unobtrusively

Praying, with what prayerful attitudes I have

When my thoughts are of my love for you

I think of shuddered windows against the wind and snow-

Of braided rugs and lit wood fires

Of all the quaint things I have never known

Only read of

And yet, when I think of my love for you

I think of your's for me

And need no words.

Snow Days, Cold Nights and Slight Delays!

I got my wish......we had the most beautiful snow in years. It is lovely to see everything white and it makes me almost feel like I am a kid again in Austria. It looks like we might be trapped for a little while, because all the roads are really bad, but I don't mind. This has been a really cold January so far, specially at night. I have to admit ....... I am not in love with that much cold anymore, I guess I am just not used to it.
The weather is putting a little delay on some of my work. I can't get deliveries and also can't get into town to mail things, but I think my clients will understand. I will be back on schedule as soon as I can drive out of this lovely valley. As you can see some brave soul did drive through the snow, but I am not that brave, specially since I have to come back down a mountain on my way home.

New Year!

So far the New Year has been great for Cariad Photography. I have been working on designing the albums from the second part of 2010's weddings. I still have a few couples that have not send me their photo choices, but I have all the hope in the world that I will receive those too shortly so I can be done with the design work before our new wedding season starts.
So far 2011 looks very promising, we have booked a lot of weddings for this year and already started to book some for 2012. We still have some dates open for 2011 so please contact us soon if you are considering Cariad Photography to cover your event. Remember, we truly care for our clients and go above and beyond in giving each couple their dream photos so they have everlasting memories of their special day.
