About Me

My photo
North Georgia, United States
I have been an artist for as long as I can remember and photography is my passion. I used to be a successful fine artist, but since I shot my first wedding I never looked back. I am madly and completely in love with weddings, I guess it is the romantic in me :)

Just a couple of babies for fun!

Like I said ....I don't have much time for baby photography, but I did take the photos of these two little girls last year and I was playing around with their photos today just for fun and to see what other effects I could use on babies.

Engagement Session at Tiger Mountain Vineyards!

We had a lovely afternoon shooting the engagement session of Emily and Chris. One of our stops was at the Tiger Mountain Vineyards. They are not only known for their incredible wines, but also for their beautiful vineyard and estate. Thank you to Dr. and Mrs. Ezzard for allowing us to enjoy such beautiful scenery. Congratulations to Emily and Chris on their upcoming wedding, Steve and I are looking forward to your special day.

Photos of Babies and Children!

I am not a children or baby photographer and really don't have the time to be one. My weddings take up all of my time. Very rarely I will do a photo session of a newborn or child of one of my couples, but lately it is getting harder and harder for me to find the time to do so, but when I do I believe children are best photographed in their natural environment........not posed. Posing a child does not show their true little wonderful personalities and that is what I think should be captured in a photo.
The "IN" thing in baby and children photography at the moment is putting the little ones in awkward positions and sometimes even dangerous ones. Are they cute??? They can be if it is done well and there are some photographers that do that well, but there are also photographers that take way to many chances with those little guys in my opinion. I was going to post a video of one of those children sessions that was online, but it since has been removed for good reason. It showed a maybe 1 year old falling and the mother catching it just in time before the child would have landed on her or his head from quite a hight. No photo is worth putting a childs future at risk.

The attached photos to this post are images of my grandchildren and they show the personality of each....someday they will look back and see what kind of children they were ...... full of fun, kindness and even a little bit of "Here comes TROUBLE" :)

Beauty OR Not!

I think you can find beauty in anything........even in this guy. My first love is photographing weddings, but I also love to photograph things that are out of the ordinary.

A Really nice Engagement Session ..........

This past weekend we had a really nice engagement session at Chota Falls with Ann and Simon. This lovely couple was a referral from Katy and Dan who's wedding we photographed a few years ago. It is always so nice to get a referral from our previous clients, it shows us that we did a good job and that they were happy with our work and we are so grateful to our couples for remembering and recommending us to their friends. Thank you Katy and Dan.........we truly enjoyed photographing Ann and Simon and are looking forward to recording their wedding day memories.

Storms and Such!

My heart goes out to all the people in the Dallas area........but I do hope these storms don't decide to move into our area. We have had enough of them in the last couple of years. It is all so girlfriend in Scotland had a real bad snow storm today and last week it was in the 70s there. Everything is upside down as far as the weather goes lately. Last year it wiped out so many of the beautiful homes around Lake Burton. I had not been over there since that storm until last week and I was so upset when I saw the damage those people still looked bad and it has almost been a year. I have a few friends and previous clients that live in the Dallas area and I hope and pray they are all ok.

Sweet little wedding at the Lake Rabun Hotel!

Just came back from a sweet little wedding at the Lake Rabun Hotel. By little I mean......the only people present were the couple, the minister and the lovely coordinator Anne from the hotel and of course Steve and myself to photograph this romantic ceremony under the trees at the hotel. After a few shots at the hotel gardens the couple changed and we went down to the marina with them where a boat waited to take them on a nice trip around Lake Rabun. This might have been a small wedding by most standards but it also was really romantic.

A welcome break!

This past week I had a welcome break from my daily routine. Two of my husbands friends came for a couple days to visit us before they went back to Wales. Nathan and his girlfriend Emma are a lovely couple and it was really fun to show them around our beautiful mountains. They had been in Memphis before they came to our home. Nathan loves he had to visit the Kings domain. Nathan is also known as "Ponty Presley" in Wales. He performs all over Europe and is incredible can trust me, I usually don't care for the Elvis impersonators. Anyway it was a real treat and Steve and I really enjoyed their company. Here is a link to one of Nathan's shows........
