About Me

I have been an artist for as long as I can remember and photography is my passion. I used to be a successful fine artist, but since I shot my first wedding I never looked back. I am madly and completely in love with weddings, I guess it is the romantic in me :)

Kelton and Zac's Engagement Session - Chota Falls

On one of the last beautiful days this fall we photographed Kelton and Zac's engagement session. I have to say this couple made our day..........lots of laughs and a couple that interacted so naturally that it made our session really fun. We still had some color in the leaves and we also chose to shoot some of the photos in the Chota Falls Vineyard which was beautifully golden in color. Congratulations Kelton and Zac, Steve and I can't wait to shoot your wedding this coming year.

Almost time...............

It is almost time for Christmas.............to bad we are not having snow, but then we don't get snow very often around here anyway. I have been working on my last wedding edit determined to get it done. Tomorrow will probably not be much different. The groom is deployed and I hope me uploading photos during Christmas and him following the uploads will make his time a away from his beautiful bride a little easier during the holidays.
It has to be so hard to be send to a foreign land so soon after your wedding. I am so grateful to him and all the other soldiers for keeping all of as safe during this holiday season and throughout the year.

Merry Christmas to all the guys and girls in the military that can't be with their families!

Memories of my Birth - Town!

This is the time of year I sometimes work on my own photos. These were taken in my Birth Town in Germany. I love that place and all of it's history. The castle high above the town is called Wartburg and it was there that Martin Luther translated the bible while he was imprisoned there. It was also the home of Saint Elizabeth. The town itself was the home of many famous creative people. Even Napoleon stopped there once.......it was not a nice visit, but it turned out ok for the town.

For many years I was not able to visit my birthplace because it was in the eastern part of Germany, but once east and west Germany became one I made quite a few visits to this incredible romantic town to record its beauty with my photography.

It breaks my heart ..............

When I can't post photos or limited photos of a wedding specially if I have really beautiful ones, but I do want my clients happy so I abide by their wishes. I got permission to post 4 photos, so I will have to be very choosy what I will post :) I have decided to stretch it out and post a new one every day while I work on the edit.

Update: My couple decided I can share the photos...........THAT made my day!

A little bit artsy!

Sometimes I get in the mood to play and today was such a time. Megan was one of my brides this year. I loved the photograph when I took it, but sometimes it is really fun to put an artistic spin on one.

Poptastic Bride published Brandy and Robert's Wedding

The lovely wedding of Brandy and Robert and their sweet flower girl Joy was published today by Poptastic Bride. We are thrilled and a big thank you to this lovely blog and to our friend and associate Laura for shooting the wedding for us since we were busy shooting at another venue. I was really jealous that Laura was shooting the event........ I LOVE LOVE horses so much and Joy looked so much like the horse I once shared my life with. It was so much fun to do the edit of the photos. http://poptasticbride.com/2012/12/falling-waters-lodge-wedding/

Getting into Christmas Spirit!

A photograph does not always have to stay a photograph. Tonight I felt like a little fun time after my edits so I played with one of my bride's bouquets. These pieces look awesome printed large and they make a beautiful memory for any bride of her bouquet hanging on the wall.

Review from one of our brides!

I get quite a few wonderful reviews from our brides and couples, but I just found this one which was placed on The Knot.............I have to say it made me cry, because Ann appreciated everything we do and did so much it really warmed my heart.

10 STARS!! My friend used Steffi and Steve at her wedding, I remembered her pictures right away and how much I loved them. So I called Steffi up and already knew in the 1st 5 minutes of talking with her that she was booked! She was genuinely excited for us and interested in who we were as a couple. We first had our engagement session with her and Steve.I don't like being photographed & hate my smile. She made us feel so comfortable and we had so much fun on our session. And the results? BLEW US AWAY! She spoiled us with little surprises here and there, prints of our pics, videos and take home cards with our engagement pic for our wedding guests! We had one framed for our "guest book frame" and she made sure to make the one we wanted perfect in size and all so it would work with the frame we ordered, and did it while we were on the phone. I could always reach her for any question request we had and she was more than helpful and happy to do it. As our wedding day approached she sent us messages of how excited she was. Our wedding was at a venue she had not shot at before so she made it a point to come to our rehersal to get a feel for the place and pick out the best picture spots. On our wedding day she blew us away again! Her a Steve were there with us every step of the way shooting away and the shots they got!!! WOW WOW WOW!! She even was getting I shot I wanted and took a stumble for me:) The pictures already started coming in the very next day!! She works so hard on each photo. I could not believe how beautiful they all were, how she really captured our LOVE, my love for my dad in our father daughter dance and how much fun everyone had. She captured every memory I could have ever asked her to and then some and definitely some classic face expressions, dance moves and KISSES between me and my hubby :) She absolutely SPOILED me from the second I hired her. And it did not stop after the wedding, she sent us more prints of our wedding day as a gift and made a video using the pictures for us. She guided us through picking pictures for our album , because it is not easy to eliminate ANY of her pictures. Then the album came in. The design, the quality, the presentation..everything about it was beyond my expectations! And... she had yet another surprise that our wedding that she captured beautifully is going to be featured in a wedding blog this November. So for CARIAD Photography : LOVE LOVE LOVE!! FUN, CARING!, FULL of SURPRISES, SPOILS their bride and groom.

Falling Waters Lodge Wedding in North Georgia!

On the same day as we shot a wedding our associate and friend Laura covered a wedding for us at the Falling Waters Lodge in the North Georgia Mountains. Brandy and Robert chose that location because they wanted to involve their horse, which is like their baby in their wedding. Brandy rode into the ceremony on horseback and it was quite a different and beautiful wedding.

Chota Falls Wedding of Jaclyn and Stephen

On September 29 of this year we photographed the wedding of this lovely couple at Chota Falls. We did an engagement session with them and we loved photographing this couple from the the word go.

Their wedding was a beautiful event and they held their ceremony at the waterfall at Chota Falls. Beautiful venue, beautiful weather and everything was just perfect. We truly enjoyed photographing
their memories.

Chota Falls Engagement Session!

Yesterday we had an engagement session planned with Amber and Blake at Chota Falls. We decided to shoot in the woods and have some fun with this couple with nature being the backdrop. It was a perfect fall morning..........even a little bit chilly when we first started shooting. My time of year :) I love those cool mornings after the hot summer we had this year.

Pavilion - Marietta, GA Wedding of Katie and Joshua!

This past weekend we photographed the wedding of Katie and Joshua at the Pavilion in Marietta. It was a perfect day.........and their wedding was absolutely beautiful. One of my favorite things was the lovely and fun lighting they had during their reception.......... and of course all the nice people.

It was such a pleasure to shoot this wedding, congratulations again to Katie and Joshua!

Clayton, GA Wedding of Haley and Derick!

As always this time of year I am a little behind with my posts.........Since Megan and Michael's wedding we have shot two weddings and an engagement session and this coming weekend we are back to shooting another wedding. We had a lovely local wedding two weeks ago .........the pre wedding photos were shot in the back yard of the brides grandmother which had a lovely little waterfall. Haley had a beautiful gown and her aunt made her flowers with loving care. Once it was time to go to the ceremony Haley was picked up in this incredible old car, I believe it was a Ford. What a fun vehicle......... The ceremony was held in the Rabun County Civic Center as was the reception.
